BUYING IN CONFIDENCE
WHAT IS HEMP? ARE YOU BUYING THE RIGHT CBD?
The exploding interest in CBD has resulted in hundreds of brands launching overnight.
With the overwhelming list of options to choose from, it can be
tough to determine which one is right for you.
Fortunately, you’re smart and have come to the right place. After
reading our CBD Buying Guide, we want you to walk away feeling safe
and informed. At Jaded, we believe education is the first and most
important step before buying CBD. By sharing our learnings from over
the years, we’re hoping it’ll give you the confidence to buy the right
CBD products for you.
Whether you’re a first timer or a full-on CBD connoisseur, it’s important
to consider a wide variety of factors. We encourage you to use this
trusted guide as your checklist before making your next CBD purchase.
QUESTION 1
HEMP or Marijuana?
For starters, it’s important to ensure you’re buying from a federally legal and compliant source.
When CBD comes from a plant that contains 0.3 percent or less THC,
the federal government considers it “industrial hemp,” and by most states’
guidelines, can be legally sold to consumers. However, if a plant has THC levels above 0.3 percent, the federal government considers it “marijuana”, and prohibits it from being sold online.
At JADED, our organic non-GMO industrial hemp contains significantly less than 0.3 percent THC and is sourced from sustainable hemp farms that are FDA-compliant, GMP-certified, and located right here in the
USA!
QUESTION 2
HEMP OIL or HEMP SEED OIL?
CBD hemp oil is made from the plant’s flowers, which boast the highest concentrations of cannabinoid-rich resin.
Hemp seed oil is made from plant’s seeds, which don’t contain any CBD (or any other cannabinoids for that matter). If you’re looking to gain the benefits of CBD, you will not get it from hemp seed oil. At JADED, our CBD is always derived from the plant’s flowers, ensuring every dose contains the full myriad of CBD benefits.
HEMP OIL
- MADE FROM plant’s flowers
- DOES contain CBD health benefits
HEMP SEED OIL
- MADE FROM plant’s seeds
- DOES NOT contain CBD health benefits
QUESTION 3
ISOLATE,BROAD-SPECTRUM, or FULL-SPECTRUM?
There’s a big difference between Isolate, Broad-Spectrum, and Full-Spectrum.
ISOLATE
100% pure CBD, not very effective unless consumed in copious amounts or if used as a topical vs ingestible.
BROAD SPECTRUM
CBD + other beneficial cannabinoids without THC (what makes you high). Unfortunately, your CB1 receptors need a teeny tiny amount of THC to unlock the full effects. Without THC, you’re preventing your body from experiencing the entire benefits.
FULL SPECTRUM
CBD + beneficial cannabinoids with a little THC. At Jaded, we only include the minimum amount of THC (<0.1%) needed to unlock the full benefits — nothing more. No high, guaranteed.
QUESTION 4
WHAT’S the FORM?
Certain forms of CBD are faster acting and better for targeted needs than others. Here are some of the pros and cons by form.
*individual effects may vary
QUESTION 5
WHAT’S the DOSAGE?
Most CBD oils state a large number on the front of the bottle, often ranging from 250-1500 mg.
While counter-intuitive, this often indicates the total amount of CBD in the bottle, not the amount of CBD per serving. For these instances, you would need to calculate the total amount of CBD divided by the number of servings to figure out the amount of CBD per serving. To eliminate this common confusion, Jaded CBD directly states the CBD per serving on the front of the bottle – no math needed.
QUESTION 6
ANY LAB REPORTS?
It’s important to only buy from brands that post third-party lab reports on their website.
These lab reports are also known as COAs (certificate of analysis). A
recent study conducted by U-Penn Medicine found that nearly 70
percent of all CBD products sold online are mislabeled, causing potential
serious harm to its consumers.
To avoid putting yourself at risk, we encourage you to check for recent
lab reports and making sure the lab report matches the product you’re
purchasing. Lastly, we recommend checking the lab report for potency
levels of CBD and THC, as well as confirming that there’s no presence of
toxins or harmful contaminants (heavy metals, solvents, etc).
At JADED we always include up-to-date lab reports that confirm potency levels and lack of contaminants. Feel free to check out our comprehensive
COAs on our product pages.
